He is Risen!

 The Resurrection of Christ
1Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importancea: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter,b and then to the Twelve.
Hope you had a great Easter!
I was so happy to have both of my children at my house again this year!
My son brought two friends from college (and his cat!) and that was really fun!
A single-mom friend of mine surprised us and came by with her two girls, so we had a full table for Easter Dinner!  .......that's the way it should be.
I've always told my kids, if you know somebody who doesn't have someplace to go - bring them to our house!  It doesn't happen nearly as often as I'd like, so maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much this time!  God has surely blessed me!

A tradition that started a long time ago (by my Greek/Italian MIL who has since passed away), is to have GREEK EASTER!  She taught me how to make all the wonderful dishes and my kids look forward to it every year!
I made:  Roast Leg of Lamb, Pastitsio (a pasta/ground meat layer dish w/a Bechamel sauce top)
Greek Lemon Soup, Spanakopita (spinach & cheese in phyllo pastry in a form of a pie)
Greek Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves w/chickpeas & rice), Greek Salad, Galopita (Greek  baked custard)
and Easter Anise Bread.  Yum!
phyllo dough (Buzz likes to eat it from the box!)
GARLIC & Lemons = LOVE for your taste buds!
Spanakopita filling
Bechamel Sauce (and pasta) for the Pastitsio
Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) w/lotsa garlic!!!!!!!!!!
Greek Easter Bread (w/anise)
Whipping the Egg Whites for the Galopita!

Despite all the rain, we had an easter egg hunt (indoors) and had fun with bubbles
(YES-those college kids did!) outside in between the rain!

Bubble Attack!
Still not too old for an Easter Egg Hunt! (hey-he's stealing her eggs!)

...party with the "peeps"
Mista Kitty wants to play!

...don't hog the bubbles!

Squeak realizes you can't blow bubbles and laugh at the same time!

I was busy from very early to very late, but I cherished the sounds of a house full of people, the laughter of my children and the delicious smell of good food!
Like I said, I am truly blessed.

Colossians 3:1-4  So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.

So, what are your traditions!?  Anyone make anything other than ham for Easter!?
