New Year!

Well, hello 2015.

(At this point, you are to ignore the date of the last post...)

As a new year begins, it seems typical to access things in your life and make changes for the better.  The hardest part is keeping the motivation and not falling back into the same old habits (though I'm SO GOOD at that!).

I want to be healthy, be strong, have more energy and fit into my clothes.  My current motivation is getting in shape and being ready for my daughter's wedding in July.  As if that would be enough motivation, I also have been thinking about my own mothers struggle with health and fitness and how I do not want that to be my struggle!  And then of course, there's the whole "turning 50" this year!

So, starting this Wednesday, I will be taking the 17 Day Diet Challenge.  If you're not familiar with this, you can read up on it here -  http://www.drmikediet.com/.  A friend of mine lost 20+ pounds following it.  Getting away from all the sugar and white starch is a good thing.  This plan promotes a balanced diet and regular exercise (also good habits).  There's a group on Facebook that I've signed up with in order to get support and encouragement. Some people don't like the "meal prep", but that doesn't bother me.  I'd rather take the time to do that and eat whole foods, than open a "ready package" with who know's what in it!   Let's hope this goes well....
